Abstract
Sixty-eight patients with malignancies of the upper extremity, shoulder region, and chest wall have been treated with complete axillary node dissection by reapproximation of the pectoralis major muscle. The technique gives complete access to the axillary lymphatic chain, especially in the region of the retropectoral and highest axillary node bearing tissue. Since the operation can be performed with little morbidity, it is recommended that this technique gain a wider acceptance.
