Abstract
In a ten-year experience with surgical treatment of 23 hydatid cysts of the liver, 13 patients underwent marsupialization or drainage after injection of formaldehyde solution or ether and suffered prolonged morbidity from sepsis, many requiring rehospitalizations. Ten were treated by partial hepatectomy. All survived and had uncomplicated convalescences.
