Abstract
Acute, intermittent bleeding from an ulcerating arteriovenous malformation of the intestine occurred in three cases. Each lesion was diagnosed by selective mesenteric arteriography and was resected successfully. The report illustrates the limitations of a conventional diagnostic approach in such cases, supports the use of arteriography, and demonstrates the futility of operations other than accurate resection of the bleeding lesion.
