Robert F. Jones, MD; Jack A. Barnett, MD; Charles F. Gregory, MD

AMA Arch Surg. 1973;106(2):142-144.

Abstract

Nine patients with chronic bone infection of the lower limb were treated by isolated regional perfusion with antibiotics. A variety of antibiotics was used, including some with potential systemic toxicity. No significant local or systemic toxicity occurred in this series. Six of the nine patients, who have been followed for periods ranging from nine months to 12 years, show no clinical evidence of residual infection.
