Heterotopic Ossification in Abdominal Operation Scars

Abstract

Five cases of heterotopic ossification in surgical abdominal scars are described. No common etiologic factors were observed. Possible causative factors are discussed. Combined surgery and irradiation are proposed as treatment of choice in symptomatic cases.
