Hemostatic Suture of the Liver

Abelardo Arango, MD; Lance Lester, III, MD

Arch Surg. 1976;111(1):81-82.

Abstract

• A technique for rapid placement of hemostatic sutures in the liver has been used without complications in 12 patients. Using a long, thin needle, a double row of interlocking sutures can be placed quickly and accurately. The technique is simple, requires no special training or complicated instrumentation, and provides effective hemostasia.
