Percutaneous transhepatic ultrasonic cholelithotripsy

In a patient with acute cholecystitis whose body habitus precluded
cholecystectomy, we used percutaneous transhepatic ultrasonic
cholelithotripsy. We compare it with other modalities applicable in such
cases. Although not commonly used, these alternatives may be the most
appropriate therapy in certain unusual circumstances.
