Managed Care and the Community Surgeon
George H. Rawls, MD
Arch Surg. 1996;131(10):1024-1026.
Abstract
Managed care is rapidly spreading in the United States. Although it has led to reduced costs, the patient-physician relationship has been negatively affected. Managed care has an impact on patient care, student learning, and residency training. Physicians must act together to maintain a quality medical care system in this country.
