Cutaneous Melanoma is the self-proclaimed authoritative and comprehensive treatise on a disease that overwhelms patients and challenges physicians far beyond the deceptively innocuous manifestation it has on initial recognition. The authors' claim is well deserved, as they have provided the single comprehensive textbook on melanoma for 15 years. This third edition brings up to date the current research and clinical experience, which has expanded in exponential fashion since 1985 and 1992 when the first 2 editions were published. Confronting the challenge of change and new information, this edition's 64 contributors have provided 23 new chapters and extensive revision of the remaining updated chapters. Most notably, classification and staging, precursor lesions, intraoperative lymphatic mapping, hyperthermic limb perfusion, melanoma and pregnancy, adjuvant systemic therapy, and epidemiology are presented with recent perspective.
