This 610-page book is authored by Lawrence Bassett and Valerie Jackson with 3 supportive coauthors, Reza Jahan, Yao S. Fu, and Richard Gold. These diagnostic radiologists combine their efforts with those of 28 of their colleagues to review the field of breast imaging.
Diagnosis of Diseases of the Breast is divided into 7 sections involving 32 chapters. It is a comprehensive review of a panorama of pretreatment and posttreatment imaging studies. Special emphasis is given to techniques for evaluating results (clinical outcome analyses), historical data, and a continuing comparison of normal breast structures with diseased states. There is a heavy emphasis on benign diseases, not often addressed in the imaging literature.
