Few would argue with the proposition that safe, appropriate, and adequate exposure remains a cornerstone to successful outcome in vascular surgery. This well-written and appropriately illustrated volume focuses exclusively on the anatomical and technical details relating to the regional exposure of blood vessels required for most procedures in the repertoire of the vascular surgeon. Within less than 200 pages, 10 chapters cover approaches on a regional basis and are supported by more than 200 illustrations, a highlight of this book. These illustrations, the work of Eileen Natuzzi, MD, a vascular trainee, consist of large, beautifully executed, and anatomically correct color drawings and line drawings that emphasize important points in the text. Additional illustrations include intraoperative and cadaveric dissection photographs. In almost all cases, the illustrations are conveniently juxtaposed with the relevant text.
