The motor function of the femoral nerve is tested by extension of the knee, the obturator nerve by adduction of the hip, the superior gluteal nerve by abduction of the hip, the inferior gluteal nerve by extension of the hip, and the deep peroneal nerve by dorsiflexion of the great toe.1
