Appointments to the Editorial and International Advisory Boards

The ARCHIVES is pleased to announce the appointment of the following distinguished surgeons to its Editorial Board.

Mary H. McGrath, MD, MPH, is a graduate of the St Louis University School of Medicine and completed a residency in general surgery at the University of Colorado Medical Center and a plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at Yale University. She is certified by the American Boards of General Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr McGrath is presently professor of surgery in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, and a regent of the American College of Surgeons.

Jeffrey B. Matthews, MD, is a graduate of the Harvard Medical School with honors and completed a residency in surgery at the Beth Israel Hospital, including a hepatobiliary fellowship in Bern, Switzerland. At Harvard College, he was elected to membership in Phi Beta Kappa and to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society at the University of Cincinnati. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is the Christian R. Holmes Professor and chair of the Department of Surgery at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.


Jeffrey B. Matthews, MD


Charles D. Mabry, MD, received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and completed a general surgery residency at the same institution. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is assistant professor of surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Dr Mabry has been active in advanced trauma life support and currently serves as a regent of the American College of Surgeons. Dr Mabry is engaged in private practice in Pine Bluff, Ark.

L. D. Britt, MD, MPH, is a graduate of the Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Public Health and is the Brickhouse Professor and chair of the Department of Surgery at the Eastern Virginia Medical School. Dr Britt completed a surgical residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago and a clinical fellowship at the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems. He holds certification from the American Board of Surgery and the certificate of Added Qualifications in Critical Care Surgery. He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and currently a regent of the American College of Surgeons.


L. D. Britt, MD, MPH


Carl E. Bredenberg, MD, received undergraduate and medical degrees from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, followed by a residency at the same institution. He is certified by the American Boards of Surgery and Thoracic Surgery. He is currently surgeon-in-chief at the Maine Medical Center. He holds certificates of Special Qualifications in General Vascular Surgery and Surgical Critical Care from the American Board of Surgery.


Carl E. Bredenberg, MD


The ARCHIVES is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Delawir Kahn to its International Advisory Board.

Delawir Kahn, MBChB, ChM, is a native of Cape Town, Republic of South Africa, and received his surgery degree from the University of Birmingham and his graduate degree from the University of Cape Town. He is director of transplantation at the University of Cape Town and the Groote Schuur Hospital and head of the Division of General Surgery at the same institution.
