Hypocalcemia, not Hypercalcemia.—In the discussion of the article, "Primary Diffuse Microscopical Hyperplasia of the Parathyroid Glands: Surgical Importance," published in the April ARCHIVES (111:348-354, 1976), an error appeared in the comments by Oliver Beahrs, MD (p 354).

The last sentence of the fourth paragraph should have read "Eight of 198 patients had temporary hypocalcemia; none had permanent hypocalcemia." The last sentence of the fifth paragraph should have read "Of these patients, 13% now have permanent hypocalcemia for which treatment is required." . . . [Full Text PDF of this Article]
