To the Editor.—The article in the ARCHIVES (113:194-195, 1978) by Fogler and Golembe on the use of methylene blue dye for localization of arteriovenous malformations in the small bowel was helpful.
Another maneuver I once found helpful at surgery was to turn off the operating room overhead lights and transilluminate the small bowel. Telangiectasias showed up as irregular dark spots.
