This fifth edition of Corscaden's Gynecologic Cancer is in every sense a worthy successor to the four previous volumes. Scholarship of the highest order has gone into its preparation. One of the outstanding features is the comprehensive bibliography at the end of each chapter or section, and another is the thorough discussion of the etiology and epidemiology of each of the various gynecologic cancers. The index is perhaps a bit abbreviated, but this can be forgiven and should not prove a major drawback in a book as specialized as this one.
The two principal authors and coeditors, both of whom pursued their graduate training under the guidance of Dr Corscaden, are experienced gynecologic oncologists, well known for their investigative as well as therapeutic efforts in a number of areas in the field. Furthermore, they have selected a group of 16 contributing authors with special interests and expertise in certain tumors
