Since 1957 this book has been used by students, interns, urologic residents, urologists, and physicians in other disciplines not only as a fundamental source of basic urology but as a quick review of a specific problem or subject matter. It has been especially valuable in providing an updated bibliography in revised sections. The numerous charts and tables are clear, succinct, and provide an excellent quick review for examinations.
This tenth edition has 36 chapters with 23 contributors. The following chapters have been rewritten and provide excellent updated reviews: "Embryology," "Ultrasonic Examination of the Urinary Tract," "Vesicoureteral Reflux," "Injuries to the Genitourinary Tract," "Disorders of the Adrenal Glands," "Abnormalities of Sex Differentiation," and "Urologic Aspects of Andrology." The new chapter on urodynamics is especially complete and clinically oriented.
