Lung cancer is now the most common fatal cancer in men and women in the United States. A state-of-the-art book has appeared that covers many areas from culture of tumor cells and tumor surface markers to current therapy. In actuality, this is a series of monographs, each extensively documented, unified only by a common interest in lung cancer.

The authors have been recruited from many leading centers: Harbor Hospital-UCLA, University of Texas at San Antonio, National Naval Medical Center, State University of New York at Syracuse, M. D. Anderson Hospital (Houston), Dartmouth Medical School (Hanover, NH), the National Cancer Institute (Bethesda, Md), and Vanderbilt Medical School (Nashville, Tenn).
