This outstanding atlas of urologic endoscopic surgery is a welcome addition to the educational sources in urologic endoscopy. Its main purpose is to educate the urologist in the author's concept of low-pressure transurethral resection for adenoma and radical resection for prostatic adenocarcinoma and endoscopic cryosurgery. The text is written to be helpful to any student of endoscopic surgery, whether first-year resident or skilled senior endoscopist and resectionist.

The anatomy of the urethra, prostate, and bladder, the technique of urethral instrumentation, patient positioning, the hydrodynamics of the irrigating fluid, and the operative procedures are discussed extensively and thoroughly. The text material is supported by an outstanding series of diagrams dealing with all aspects of urologic endoscopic anatomy. Ample instruction is provided in all aspects of the surgical procedures. Basic science topics such as high-frequency cutting and coagulation physics and fundamental aspects of cryosurgery are presented.
