Welcome to the New England Surgical Society and the Society of Surgical Oncology

The Editorial Board of the Archives of Surgery is pleased to announce the association of the New England Surgical Society (NESS) and the Society of Surgical Oncology with the Archives of Surgery. Both of these societies have excellent annual programs and memberships, which have in the past and continue now to provide exciting contributions to the science, techniques, and art of surgery. Beginning in 1986, the papers presented at the annual meeting of the NESS, which was held at The Balsams, Dixville Notch, NH, Oct 11-13, 1985, will be published in the Archives along with discussions of those presentations. The program of the annual meeting of the Society of Surgical Oncology, to be held May 11-14, 1986, in Washington, DC, will subsequently be published in the ARCHIVES.
