Incorrect Number.—In the article entitled "Hospital Stay Following Biliary Tract Surgery: A Comparison of Two Community Hospitals," published in the June 1986 ARCHIVES (1986;121: 693-696), an error appeared in the first paragraph of the introduction. On page 693, the second sentence of the introduction should have read as follows: "Although the frequency of 'silent stones' is debated, 20% to 70% of patients with gallstones will become symptomatic, resulting in over one-half million [not 500 million] biliary tract operations in the United States annually."
