Dr Mitchell Kaminski, who has been involved in nutritional support since the 1960s, has assembled an excellent book that is a single reference source for nutritional support.

The first chapter gives warning that this book is for the expert, not for the unsophisticated. Each chapter has a complete literature review on specialized topics concerning nutrition. The subsequent chapters relate nutrition to immunity and acute renal failure and even explain how to set up a metabolic support service.

This book has a few obvious short-comings. Several of the "administrative" chapters need to be shortened. Such chapters as that on the role of the nutritionist contain material that is duplicated elsewhere. This 800-page book could probably be shortened by 100 pages.

There is one significant omission. Costs are discussed in a mere half page in the introduction despite the fact that Dr Kaminski is expert in the economic analysis of nutritional support. . . . [Full Text PDF of this Article]
