The pancreas has two processes: (a) the uncinate process, which projects from the lower part of the head medially behind the superior mesenteric vessels, and (b) the tuber omentale, which projects upwards from the body and fits into the lesser curvature of the stomach. There it abuts against the lesser omentum which separates it from the downwardly projecting tuber omentale of the left lobe of the liver.
