Summary of the XIX National Congress of General Surgery, Mexican Association of General Surgery

The annual meeting of the Mexican Association of General Surgery is undoubtedly one of the major academic events in the field, with a national attendance of 1300 to 1600 surgeons. This year the meeting took place in Cancún, one of the most beautiful seaside resorts of the Mexican Republic, with important national and international tourism and magnificent hotel facilities for conventions. Although this meeting is organized by the Mexican Association of General Surgery for general surgeons or specialists from other surgical fields, a smaller number of general practitioners, endoscopists, gastroenterologists, and intensivists also attended.

As is customary, an important number of national and international professors were invited this year.
