It is the purpose of this paper to discuss fractures about the elbow joint in children and to give a brief outline of the various types of fractures, their relative frequency and the method of treatment for each type.

Fractures involving the elbow joint in children are relatively common. In studying the files of the Campbell Clinic, we have found that 713 of these fractures have been treated by members of the staff in patients 12 years of age or under. These do not include the fractures treated in the service of the John Gaston (City) Hospital. Fractures involving the elbow joint in children will be discussed in the order of their frequency: supracondylar fractures, condylar fractures, fractures of the neck of the radius, Monteggia fractures, fractures of the olecranon and T-condylar fractures of the lower end of the humerus (table 1).
