IT IS NOW 227 years since cystic dilatation of the common bile duct was reported by Vater.¹ Since that time about 185² cases have been reported. Judd and Greene³ state that one cyst of the common bile duct was found in 17,381 operations on the biliary tract. Many methods for the correction of this condition have been used.⁴ This report deals with the successful treatment of a cystic dilatation of the comomn bile duct by a Roux en Y anastomosis between the cystic dilatation and the jejunum. This patient has been followed for a period of two years. Furthermore, a normal pregnancy and delivery have occurred since the operation.
