Analysis of Eighty Cases

IN THE presentation of such a broad topic as carcinoma of the colon, it is impossible to review all of the available literature on this subject. In the analysis of our cases, we will attempt to present data which will lay stress upon many important factors recently reported in the literature.

The cases included in this analysis consist of 80 in which operation was performed at this hospital during the past six years.

AGE INCIDENCE AND LOCATION OF LESIONS

The age incidence varied from 21 to 85 years, the average age of patients being 49.5 years. The average age of patients in the group without lesions of the appendix was 52.4 years. In the youngest group of patients, those with carcinoid of the appendix, the average age was 26.3 years.
