Epidermoid cyst of the spleen is rare and represents only one variety of nonparasitic benign splenic cysts as classified by Fowler.² In a review of previously reported cases by Lee and Arnspiger³ in 1958, twenty-three were felt to meet the histologic criteria set forth by Fowler.² Because of the rarity of these cysts, and its unusual location at the time of discovery, the following case is presented.

Report of Case

A 17-year-old gravida I, para 0, abortion I, white woman was seen for the first time on July 9, 1958. Her immediate past history revealed hospitalization elsewhere on April 24, 1958, for a spontaneous, complete abortion after four months' gestation. On routine examination four weeks later she was told she had a "tumor on her womb" which should be followed.
